Phantom's Repose – Original Oil on Board by Roger Fattig

Phantom's Repose is an original oil painting on board by Nebraska artist Roger Fattig. This striking wildlife portrait captures a mountain lion in a moment of quiet intensity — its piercing gaze and richly textured fur rendered with exceptional realism against a softly blurred woodland background.

A single pine bough frames the foreground, grounding the composition and drawing the eye directly to the cougar's commanding presence. The depth of field and subtle light create a sense of stillness that is both powerful and intimate.
