Foothill Cottonwood
Foothill Cottonwood
Rendered in charcoal with meticulous attention to the gnarled bark, sweeping branches, and the quiet country road that winds past its roots, this piece captures both the grandeur and the solitude of a true Nebraska landmark. One of a kind, signed by the artist.
Artist's Note: "Standing at the south edge of the Nebraska Sandhills, this ancient cottonwood is a living monument — eight feet in diameter, estimated at 140 to 160 years old, and still standing tall against the relentless Nebraska wind and weather. It has sheltered cattle from the summer sun, housed countless generations of birds, and witnessed more than a century of the land's history. This is not just a tree. It is a testament." — Roger Fattig
